KNKT Investigate Cause Of 900XP Hawker Aircraft Slipping At Maleo Morowali Airport

PALU - The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) on Friday (12/5) is scheduled to investigate the cause of the theft of the Hawker 900XP PK LRU plane when landing at Maleo Airport, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi.

"Tomorrow, the investigation process for the cause of this incident will still be at the scene and has not been evacuated," said Police Chief MORowali AKBPSuprianto as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.

The police chief said that the KNKT investigators had the authority to investigate the cause of the plane's slip, whether it was purely a technical error or there were other factors.

The Morowali Police are ready to support the investigation process in terms of security and sterilization of areas that are the objects of investigation.

"That's why the fuselage has not been evacuated because it is waiting for the investigation process. The second reason is because there is no special crane so that the fuselage is left at the location and of course gets guard from the police for aircraft security," he said.

The Hawker 900XP PK LRU aircraft chartered by PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry (GNI) slipped off the runway while landing at Maleo Airport at around 15:10 WITA. The plane was carrying four passengers and four crew members.

According to the Police Chief, the NTSC as the transportation safety authority has a perspective on seeing this series of incidents with technical calculations so that the results of the investigation will become a reference to conclude the cause of the plane's slip.

"We from the Resort Police deployed 20 personnel to secure the scene of the incident," said Suprianto.

Head of Maleo Morowali Airport Sofyan Palandro said eight people who were on the plane after being evacuated were healthy without any injuries.

"The Hawker 900 plane had an accident while landing. This plane departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Jakarta to Morowali. There were no casualties from this incident," he said.

Maleo Morowali Airport, which has been operating since May 27, 2017, has a runway length of 1,850 meters and serves a number of airlines, one of which is WingsAir.
