Commission III Of The House Of Representatives Called The Feasibility Test For The Candidate For Chief Of Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit, Was Only A Formality

JAKARTA - The leadership of Commission III of the House of Representatives has spoken out regarding the fit and proper test of the candidate for Chief of Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit, which took place quickly.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Desmond J. Mahesa said the test was quick because there was no longer any reason to reject the single candidate proposed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). In fact, he said, this fit and proper test was just a formality.

"If this is a formality, why? From the point of view of all factions there is no problem," said Desmond in a press conference after the fit and proper test of a candidate for police chief was conducted at the Parliament Complex, Wednesday, January 20.

Not only that, Desmond also mentioned the paper that Listyo brought in the fit and proper test. "If you read a precision paper, there is no reason whatsoever for the factions in Commission III to refuse," said the Gerindra politician.

"So the factions agreed that this Precision could be carried out according to what was presented," he added.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Adies Kadier, said that actually all factions in charge of the law had raised sharp questions which Listyo managed to answer. Thus, the nine factions in Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives agreed to agree to the Kabareskrim as the Chief of Police to replace General Idham Azis.

"So, what Pak Desmond said fit and proper was what it was. It was up to the National Police Chief to implement what was explained about the precision earlier," said Adies.
