JAKARTA - East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. officers evacuated a toddler who was trapped in a car in a locked condition from the inside. The incident occurred in the New Village area, RT 02/08, West Cakung Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta on Tuesday, May 9. "After receiving the report, we dispatched 3 rescue personnel to the location. The evacuation was successfully carried out at 14.35 WIB. The car keys were successfully opened and the children under five were successfully evacuated," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Tuesday, May 9. Furthermore, Gatot said, the incident was discovered when the owner of a car named Gema reported that his toddler was locked in the car. "The incident occurred when the complainant wanted to take care of the file in the sub-district, then the complainant forgot that the key was left in the car. So the toddler's child was locked," he said.

Evacuation efforts were carried out by the parents of children under five as well as the owner of the car. However, his efforts did not bear fruit. Gema finally reported to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. "There was an evacuation by the complainant but it could not be opened for 30 minutes and then reported it to the fire department. Thank God, we managed to evacuate the children under lock in the car safely," he said.
