National Police Chief Idham Azis Antar Listyo Feasibility Test At DPR: This Is A New Tradition

JAKARTA - National Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis escorted Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo to the Indonesian Parliament to carry out a feasibility test as a candidate for Chief of Police.

According to him, he deliberately took Listyo as a form of learning for the police internally that leadership change and regeneration in the Bhayangkara Corps is something for sure. He even said, what he was doing was a new tradition.

"With me accompanying him, this is a new tradition that we have to grow and develop and become a lesson for the next generation of Polri so that they are internally solid," said Idham to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 20.

Not only himself, Idham also said that later Listyo's seniors in the police would accompany the single candidate for Chief of Police. He said this was done as a symbol of the Police's readiness to take Listyo to the highest position as Chief of Police.

"We all have an obligation to accompany Mr. Komjen Sigit until his inauguration by the President so that he becomes the 25th National Police Chief," he said.

"I ask for your blessing. I hope the fit and proper test will run smoothly," added Idham.

It is known, starting at 10:00 WIB, until now the due diligence process of Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who was presented as the sole candidate for Chief of Police by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is still ongoing.

Currently, Commission III DPR RI is listening to the presentation of a paper entitled Transformation Towards a Precision Police: Predictive-Responsibility-Fair Transparency.

As for the due diligence process, Listyo was not only escorted by the National Police Chief. A number of high-ranking police officers were also present at the parliament building such as Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono, Kabarhankam Polri Komjen Agus Andrianto, Head of Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Wahyu Widada, North Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra and Brigadier General Ida Utari.
