Bus Driver From Tangerang Who Rolled Over In Tegal Was Secured, Police Suspected Negligence

CENTRAL JAVA - Police secured a tourism bus driver from Tangerang who had an accident and rolled into a river in Guci, Tegal, Central Java.

Tegal Police Chief AKBP Moc Sajarod Zakun said there were allegations of negligence from the bus driver. This resulted in the victim's death.

"The driver has been arrested and questioned," said Tegal Police Chief AKBP Moc Sajarod Zakun when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, May 7.

Based on the inspection of the bus driver, said Zakun, the bus was being heated by the kernet. However, at that time, the bus handbrake was installed.

"After getting out, the bus died. They waited to get out with the driver, not long after then got down," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Tegal Police Chief, AKBP Moc Badminton, Sajarod Zakun, explained the chronology of the tourism bus accident from Tangerang which rolled into a ravine in the Guci area, Tegal, Central Java, Sunday, May 7.

The incident began when the group bus was parked at a declining location with the handbrake position attached. However, suddenly the tourism bus dropped down to enter the river ravine.

When asked about the alleged malfunctioning handbrake, Zakun admitted that the police could not conclude yet. There is still a need for further investigation and the current position of the bus is still in a ravine.

"Working or not, we are still checking, we are still investigating, considering that the bus is still inside," he said, Sunday, May 7.

Zakun said that currently the bus evacuation process is being carried out. The work can only begin when heavy equipment to lift the bus body has arrived at the scene.

"We will evacuate waiting for the crane to be made up later," he said

On his occasion, Zakun revealed that dozens of people were affected by the tourist bus accident.

Of the injured and critical victims, one bus passenger was declared dead. The body will soon be taken to the funeral home in Tangerang, Banten.

"Yes, so the families of the victims who died will soon be taken to the funeral home in Tangerang there," he said.
