The COVID-19 Red Zone Has Returned To 108 Regions

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 said the number of areas that entered the red zone of COVID-19 was again 108 regencies and cities.

"For the first time the red zone area has reached the same number as the initial risk zoning calculation carried out on May 31, 2020. The number of red zones reached more than 100, namely 108 districts and cities," said Wiku Adisasmito, spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force. , Tuesday, January 19.

The zoning calculation is carried out in the period 10-17 January 2021.

"It is clear on the screen that there is almost no green color. This means that almost all regions in Indonesia have a very high risk of contracting COVID-19," said Wiku.

When compared with last week, there are still 70 districts / cities in the red zone, while the number of orange zones has decreased from the previous week, namely 437 districts / cities as well as the yellow zone to 45 regencies / cities.

However, the decrease in the orange-yellow zone according to Wiku is not commensurate with the increase in the red zone which is very drastic.

"This means that the development of COVID-19 continues to develop in unexpected directions. In fact, there are 15 districts / cities that have never previously entered the red zone, which are now moving to the red zone," said Wiku.

The 15 districts / cities are Madiun, Magetan, Ponorogo, Trenggalek in East Java; West Lampung, North Lampung, Pringsewu in Lampung; Bima, Dompu in West Nusa Tenggara; West Manggarai in East Nusa Tenggara; and North Morowali, Poso, Sigi, Tojo Una Una, and Toli-Toli in Southeast Sulawesi.

From the data held by the Task Force, Wiku revealed that Central Java turned out to be the largest contributor to the zoning movement from the orange zone to the red zone.

A total of 15 districts / cities in Central Java on 10-17 January 2021 moved to the red zone, namely Banyumas, Purbalingga, Kebumen, Wonosobo, Magelang, Karanganyar, Sragen, Grobogan, Pati, Jepara, Semarang, Batang, Pemalang, Magelang City, and Semarang city.

Besides that, big cities also contributed to the high number of red zones this week.

"Medan City, Magelang City, Semarang City, Balikpapan City, and Tomohon City are examples of cities with large numbers of people who have also moved to the red zone. Please make this situation a reflection of the handling of COVID-19 which is currently together we are trying this time, "said Wiku.

Meanwhile, districts and cities that were in the orange zone have moved to the red zone in droves, namely from North Sumatra, the city of Medan; from West Sumatra is Tanah Datar; from South Sumatra is Prabumulih City; from Lampung are North Lampung, West Lampung, Pringsewu; from West Java are Bandung and West Bandung.

Then from East Java are Ponoroogo, Trenggalek, Madiun, Magetan, and Ngawi; from NTB are Dompu, Bima and Kota Bima; from NTT are West Manggarai; from Central Kalimantan are Sukamara, Gunung Mas, Katingan and Pulang Pisau.

Furthermore, from East Kalimantan are Berau, Penajam Paser Utara, Kota Balikpapan and Kota Bontang; from South Kalimantan, Tanah Bumbu and Tanah Laut; from North Sulawesi namely Minahasa, southeast Minahasa, City of Tomohon and City of Kotamobagu.

Other areas are from Central Sulawesi namely Poso, Tolitoli, Tojo Una-Una, Sigi, and North Morowali and from Maluku are the Aru islands.

Today, the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has increased by 10,365 people, bringing the total number of cases to 927,380. Patients who were declared cured increased by 8,013 people to 753,948 and patients who died increased by 308 people so that a total of 26,590 people had died.
