Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya asked Jakarta residents to understand and monitor the traffic situation in Bogor City as a result of the closure of Jalan Otto Iskandardinata (Otista) due to the bridge widening work, before visiting the city.

This was conveyed when Bima Arya visited the DKI Jakarta City Hall to meet the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono today.

The closure of Jalan Otista was discussed in the meeting between Bima and Heru which lasted for one hour.

"There is an appeal from Jakarta residents to adjust the information regarding diversion, the hours are also adjusting. I thank Mr. Heru for helping to convey to Jakarta residents," said Bima at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, May 4.

Bima made this request because many Jakarta residents spent the weekend visiting Bogor. According to him, monitoring the traffic situation in the city center of Bogor needs to be understood by Jakarta residents so they don't get caught in traffic jams when visiting Bogor.

"Once again I'm not forbidding it. Of course we are happy if Jakarta people play to Bogor, culinary, take a walk. But, we don't want Jakarta residents to be uncomfortable and then complain to social media," explained Bima.

"So, please go to Bogor but in order to adjust to see information about flow diversion, the hours are also adjusted," he continued.

Responding to this, Heru agreed and participated in asking the residents of the capital to monitor and plan their journey to Bogor carefully during the closure of Jalan Otista.

"I urge the public to look at the situation on Saturday-Sunday, weekends to Bogor, whether the route is congested, jammed, or it can be avoided for a while," said Heru.

For information, the Bogor City Government has started closing Jalan Otista since last Monday, May 1. The closure of this road is the result of the revitalization of the bridge on the road section.

The Bogor City Government has also implemented traffic engineering as a result of the closure of Jalan Otista. It is targeted that the revitalization of this bridge will be completed in December 2023.
