Muara Angke Fire Victims Given Access Living In Rusunawa, Walkot Jakut: Conditions For DKI ID Cards

Mayor (Walkot) of North Jakarta (Jakut) Ali Maulana Hakim offered residents affected by the fire in Muara Angke to live in a simple rented flat (rusunawa) owned by the DKI Provincial Government.

Moreover, said Ali, the location of the densely populated settlement that was destroyed by the fire was a land asset belonging to the government.

"That's a local government asset. I still offer to be relocated to the flats," Ali told reporters, Thursday, April 27.

However, the flats belonging to the DKI Provincial Government can only be inhabited for residents who have Jakarta ID cards. Meanwhile, residents with ID cards outside the area are asked to find other places to live.

"The requirements for entering the flats are DKI ID cards. If you are not a DKI non-KTP, you will move to another rented house. If you want to enter Jakarta, you will move, yes, Jakarta ID cards," said Ali.

Furthermore, Ali said that currently residents affected by the fire are taking care of the re-making of their population documents that could not be saved due to the fire.

"What is certain is that the printing of ID cards, family cards, and others is being served by our Dukcapil. Now they are still in refugee camps. At the latest, 6 days, if they don't want to move to the flats, they will rent," he explained.

For information, the fire in Kaeasan Wall Bolong, Muara Angke Fishing Port, Penjaringan, North Jakarta caught fire in the early hours of Saturday, April 22. The fire broke out when people were preparing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1444 H.

Based on temporary records, as many as 219 houses were burned down by fire. The number of residents affected by the fire was recorded as many as 800 people. It is suspected that while the North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., the fire occurred due to an electrical short circuit.
