SEMARANG - The implementation of the one-way lane from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) Semarang, Central Java, to the west or Jakarta, Tuesday (25/4) evening, was again extended until Wednesday, April 26.

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of Jasa Marga Lisye Octaviana said that the one-way traffic engineering implementation from KM 414 GT Kalikangkung was initially scheduled to finish at 24.00 WIB, Tuesday (25/4).

"At the discretion of the police it was extended until Wednesday (26/4)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 26.

The decision, he continued, was based on the volume of vehicle traffic from the east which was still increasing significantly.

According to him, the implementation of this one-way lane is planned to be extended until Wednesday, at 24.00 WIB.

Motorists who will travel west or towards Jakarta are asked to ensure the availability of e-toll card balances.

"Make sure the minimum balance is IDR 500,000 to avoid a shortage of balance when exiting the toll transaction," he said.

The implementation of the one-way lane itself had previously been extended to KM 425 of the Semarang inner toll road due to vehicle density.

The peak of the first wave backflow is expected to occur on April 24 and April 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, the peak of the second wave of reverse flow is expected to occur on April 30 and May 1, 2023.
