JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, appointed Marullah Matali as the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the DKI Jakarta Province. Marullah was announced after achieving the highest result of each test he participated in.

Governor Anies assessed that the selection process for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary has gone through a clear legal basis and procedures, such as referring to the 2014 ASN Law and 2014 Ministerial Regulation, as well as Government Regulation No. 11/2014 on Civil Servant Management, as well as proposing recommendations for open selection to KASN regarding open selection of Regional Secretary positions.

"I need to underline, those who are involved in the selection process are also based on the Governor's Instruction, that all those who have and meet the requirements are required to follow the selection process to become Secretary of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Governor Anies hopes that Secretary Marullah can carry out his new mandate because the task at hand is not an easy one. The Regional Secretary must carry out its functions, especially during the crisis in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"To the newly appointed Regional Secretary, we are still faced with a health crisis situation due to COVID-19. The DKI Provincial Government must also be able to restore the weakening health-economic condition so that the social conditions of Jakarta residents can run dynamically in the days ahead. "We are also asked to ensure that the coordination between government agencies in DKI Jakarta runs well," said Anies

In addition, Anies emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government is pursuing all targets related to development that are already in the Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) and in the Activities of the Regional Secretary (KSD).

"As well as in all directions related to development, it must be carried out as well as possible and in accordance with the plan, on the other hand it must build a collaborative working atmosphere," said Governor Anies.

Governor Anies also expressed his appreciation to the Assistant for Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Sri Haryati, who has been carrying out his duties as Acting Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province since October 7, 2020.

Meanwhile, Regional Secretary Marullah said that the mandate given by Governor Anies would be carried out well, as well as inviting ASN within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to jointly tackle all crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
