There Is A Case Of COVID-19, Luxury Ski Resort St. Moritz In Switzerland Closed

JAKARTA - Swiss health authorities have imposed a quarantine at two hotels and closed ski schools at the luxury ski resort, St. Moritz, Switzerland on Monday, January 18 local time.

This was carried out in relation to preventing the spread of an outbreak of a new variant of the corona virus which is more infectious in Switzerland. A number of control and preventive measures have been taken.

The Grisons Authority, where St. Moritz, located in eastern Switzerland, has ordered citizens to wear masks. The city of 5,200 inhabitants and prides itself on being the birthplace of modern winter sport will also hold a mass COVID-19 test on Tuesday, January 19.

“About a dozen cases are currently known in two hotels. To protect the health of residents and guests, the Ministry of Health has quarantined the two hotels and ordered COVID-19 tests for employees and guests, ”said local authorities in a statement.

Swiss authorities are known to have closed restaurants, bars, theaters and recreation areas to limit the spread of COVID-19. However, ski lifts remain open provided that all strict rules and health protocols are followed.
