DPR Asks Government To Follow Up Complaints Workers Have Not Received THR

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives Kurniasih Mufidayati asked the government to follow up on all workers' complaints related to THR (Hari Raya Allowance) hundreds of employees who had not been disbursed before Eid. According to him, after verification of information, the team formed by the government could follow up on the companies reported. It is known, until now the THR Command Post has received 938 complaints, with details of 468 THR complaints not being paid, 337 THR payment complaints did not comply with the provisions, and 93 THR complaints were late. Most complaints came from DKI Jakarta.

"All reports and complaints must be followed up, if there are indications of violations, action must be taken and fulfillment of the rights of workers," said Kurniasih in his statement, Tuesday, April 18.

The PKS legislator for the DKI Jakarta electoral district reminded that there should be no reduction for THR 2023. Including payment methods in installments, as has been done in previous years, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This year the payment must be full, not in installments. This is a worker's right that must be paid by the company. There are also rules for those who are not even a year old with a proportional THR value according to their working time," said Kurniasih.

Kurniasih said that the unpaid THR could harm workers financially and of course affect welfare. Especially in an unstable economic situation. "Workers who should receive THR can also feel unappreciated and lose motivation," he said.

Therefore, Kurniasih urged reports and settlement targets from incoming complaints. So, he said, the public can participate in monitoring and ensuring that every complaint that comes in is really resolved.

"We ask for a report, how much has been completed, of course the target is all completed. This is what we hope for," he said.
