Garut Police have started testing the one-way system on the national cross-Langan-Malangbong road route, Garut Regency, West Java. The results were able to smooth the flow of vehicles until the road conditions seemed deserted on Sunday, April 16. Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit AKP Syarif Hidayat said the one-way trial of the vehicle flow was the right way when there was a density on the national road from Bandung to Tasikmalaya and vice versa. The flow of vehicles from Bandung to Tasikmalaya or crossing Garut has increased by about five percent, and the condition of the vehicle volume is still in the sloping category, there are no vehicle speed barriers. "The flow of homecoming that passes on the national route is dominated by private cars during the day and at night. There is quite an increase of five percent," he said. Even though the conditions are sloping, he said, the Garut Police Traffic Unit will continue to be on standby to carry out security on the route which is a point prone to congestion, including implementing a one-way system so that road users can be comfortable and safe when crossing the Garut area. He conveyed that the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow from Bandung to Tasikmalaya across the Garut Regency area is predicted to occur on April 19 or 20, 2023. Therefore, said UU, a number of Garut Police personnel and officers from related agencies are on standby to carry out security at every post and are ready to take quick action, if there are obstacles to the flow of vehicles. He added that his staff had also taken anticipatory steps by imposing road restrictions and then making a crossing point so that people would not cross carelessly, which could hinder the speed of vehicles to overcome congestion from the impact of market activity on national roads.
