Police Seize 127 Meranti Logs From Illegal Logging In The Muarojambi Protected Forest

JAKARTA - The joint team consisting of the Muarojambi Police, Jambi Provincial Forestry Service and Denpom II / 2 Jambi succeeded in securing 127 meranti logs.

This wood is the result of processing by illegal logging actors in a protected forest area in Muarojambi Regency.

Muarojambi Police Chief AKBP Ardiyanto through the Head of Public Relations AKP Amradi said the joint TNI-Polri team had secured 127 logs bearing the size of 15x25 cm, four meters long.

The security was carried out after the Police received a report from the Forestry Police of the Jambi Forestry Service that there had been illegal logging activities in a protected forest area in Muarojambi Regency.

The results of illegal logging are stored by the perpetrators in the tributary of the Batanghari river.

"Based on the report, the Police invited the TNI and the Forest Service to take action and the result was that in the field the joint team found hundreds of logs in the form of four large blocks that were stored in the waters of the Batanghari tributary to trick the officers when they were raided," said Amradi. his statement was quoted from Antara, Sunday, January 17.

Muarojambi Police Chief AKBP Ardiyanto on Saturday (16/1) directly led the operation to eradicate illegal logging towards the Batanghari tributary, in the Kumpeh, Betung Village, Kumpeh Ilir District, Muarojambi Regency.

The police chief immediately took action against illegal logging with the joint team against the findings of wood in the Kumpeh River, Betung Kumpeh Ilir Village.

Prior to the implementation of the action against illegal logging, the joint team held an apple at the Kumpeh Ilir Police Headquarters.

In taking action against the findings of wood in the Kumpeh River in Betung Village, the team then secured the evidence by shifting the wood findings using a boat that pulled the long logs using two units of pompong boats through the river and brought to the banks of the Pasar Pulau Mentaro River, Pulau Mentaro Village. and the riverside of Betung Village, Kumpeh Ilir District.

The Muarojambi Police will develop and investigate the illegal logging case, to reveal who the perpetrators were involved in the illegal logging action.
