Because The Stove Was Left Behind In Cooking Time, 40 Houses In North Kedoya Caught Fire

The fire hit a settlement on Jalan Pesing Koneng, North Kedoya Village, Kebon Jeruk District, South Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 40 houses affected by the fire.

Head of DKI Jakarta BPBD Isnawa Adji revealed that the cause of the fire was a stove in one of the houses there that was left when the fire started.

"The fire in North Kedoya Village occurred on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 21.03 WIB. The cause was the stove left for cooking time," Isnawa said in his statement, Friday, April 7.

Currently, the fire has been extinguished. Now, there are 100 residents who have fled because their houses were engulfed in flames. The details are 39 male, 30 female, 10 toddlers, 18 children, 2 pregnant women, and 1 person with disabilities.

"Regarding material losses, data collection is still being carried out," said Isnawa.

So far, BPBD has established refugee posts for victims affected by fires. This morning, the DKI Provincial Government has also distributed aid ranging from mineral water, ready-to-eat food, instant noodles, and snacks.

In addition, worship equipment, tarpaulins, mattresses, blankets, towels, clothes, and children's equipment were also distributed.

Furthermore, Isnawa said that the DKI Jakarta BPBD and PPSU teams would clean up the remaining fire material in the form of building debris, until, and others on Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9.

"I also remind residents to be careful of buildings and walls that are prone to hitting residents. Remember, there are lots of glass, wires, and nails that endanger residents and children," he added.
