The Governor Of South Sulawesi Asks All Parties To Help West Sulawesi Which Is Shaken By The Earthquake

JAKARTA - The Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Nurdin Abdullah asked all parties, especially those who are members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) to immediately help earthquake victims in Majene, West Sulawesi (Sulbar).

"I immediately coordinated with all parties, the Kodam Commander, Pak Danlantamal and others to immediately prepare assistance for our brothers in West Sulawesi," said Nurdin Abdullah in Makassar, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 15.

He said the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 had collapsed many buildings and left residents with both minor and serious injuries, and some even died.

Therefore, Nurdin immediately responded to natural disasters in West Sulawesi by coordinating with all parties including the State Electricity Company (PLN) and PT Telkom.

Through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Governor has also requested that everything be prepared to coordinate with the West Sulawesi Provincial Government to immediately distribute aid.

For initial assistance, his party had sent several basic necessities through the Commander of Lantamal VI because he was preparing his warship (KRI) to go directly to the disaster site.

"I coordinated with Pak Danlantamal this morning and he will send his battleship to Majene. We will immediately distribute the basic necessities for the start," he said.

Previously, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred in the West Sulawesi region at 02.28 WITA, and collapsed many buildings.

The earthquake in Mamuju was centered six kilometers northeast of Majene Regency 2.98 LS-118.94 East Longitude at a depth of 10 kilometers, also damaged the Mamuju hospital building.
