Verification Results, KPU Batang Strikes Out 15,660 Voters In The 2024 Election

The General Election Commission of Batang Regency, Central Java, crossed out 15,660 voters in the temporary election list (DPS) in the 2024 General Election. This is based on the results of KPU factual verification.

Chairman of the General Election Commission of Batang Regency, Nur Tofan, said that currently the number of temporary voter lists (DPS) is 623,364 people consisting of 311,794 men and 311,570 women.

"In the process of matching and research, 15,660 voters have been crossed out because 11,127 died, 2,526 doubles, 1,958 moved domicile, 27 were known to be TNI status, and 22 were members of the National Police," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 5.

He said, after being assigned to the temporary voter list, his party would provide a copy of the "by name" to the Election Supervisory Agency, Civil Registry Office, and political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.

In the "by name" copy issued to the Batang Regency Election Supervisory Agency, Civil Registry Service, and 2024 Election political parties, he continued, there will be names, addresses, and polling stations.

"So, now it's not as complete as it used to be. If in the past it still includes a population identification number (NIK) which is an element of privacy for ID card owners," he said.

At the Recapitulation of the Voter List for Updating Results and Determination of the Temporary Voter List for the 2024 General Election, he said, his party would announce the results to the public starting April 12, 2023.

"We will attach the results to each appointed butt. We hope that residents can check whether the voters in question are registered or not. If they are not registered, we hope to register with the PPS," he said.

He said his party would also boost check the online voter list as an effort to make it easier for people to check whether they have been included in the final voter list or not.

"It is enough for voters to enter their population identification number to find out whether it has been registered on the final voter list or not in the 2024 General Election," said Nur Tofan.
