LABUAN BAJO - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, hopes that national and international standard activities will continue to emerge in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

This was conveyed by him while attending the Idealaton activity in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT. He believes that this Idealon-like activity can grow a world-class event ecosystem.

"Last year, Idealaton raised the theme of developing the idea of organizing an event and there is the Labuan Bajo Maritim Festival which has successfully entered Kharisma Event Nusantara. So the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that in the future many quality events with national and international standards will appear in NTT, especially Labuan Bajo," Sandiaga said.

Idealson is a flagship program of the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority's Implementing Agency which focuses on developing and creating ideas in the context of creative economy products in Flores, Alor, Lembata, and Bima.

In 2022, Idealson focuses on developing the idea of organizing events has successfully implemented the idea of participants, namely the Labuan Bajo Maritime Festival which has also been successfully entered into the Kharisma Event Nusantara list.

Sandiaga feels that Labuan Bajo Maritime Festival 2022 is one example of the creative idea of developing events from appropriate assistance that can have an impact. Therefore, Idealon 2023 is expected to produce many quality events with national and international standards.

In line with this, Sandiaga hopes that the Idealon competition will strengthen its event ecosystem. So that there are more who understand, understand, create jobs, and become an attraction for people who want to visit Labuan Bajo.

"People don't only come for Komodo but attend events so that they don't get piled up all in Komodo National Park. We really support this activity and part of the campaign in Indonesia alone," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga also advised Ideathon to produce activities that are sustainable and do not cause waste, and involve local parekraf actors.

"Let's build a strong narrative so that Labuan Bajo can recover faster, avoid negative narratives, last year there were many negative narratives, we will recover the economy with adaptation, innovation, and collaboration," he said optimisticly.
