Heard The Story Of The Explosion Of The Cilitan Substation

JAKARTA - The sound of an explosion was heard from the PLN Cililitan substation, East Jakarta. Instantly, the activities of the local people stopped because the electric power disappeared. Previously, VOI wrote that the problematic substation was the Cawang Substation.

The incident occurred at around 11:34 WIB. According to an eye witness, Dicki, said the sound of the thud was heard loudly in his ears. In fact, the distance from the location of the incident is about 200 meters.

Not long after the sound of the explosion, the employees of the PLN Cililitan substation were seen flocking out of the office.

"(Employees) Many immediately leave. They are just in front of the main road while looking at their office," said Dicki to VOI at the location, Tuesday, February 11.

Immediately, the traffic conditions around the location on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo changed. The road that was previously quiet became crowded because many people or motorists stopped around the location out of curiosity about what was happening.

Another witness, Ridho, said that the condition began to return to the previous one hour after the sound of the thud. Apart from that, he said, there was neither smoke nor fire when the sound of the explosion was heard.

However, there were several officers in blue uniform carrying a light fire extinguisher (Apar) to the center of the substation area.

"Earlier I saw that one person was carrying an extinguisher but didn't know what it was for because there was no smoke or fire," said Ridho.

Meanwhile, confirmed regarding the sound of the explosion, Public Relations of PLN for Jakarta Raya Distribution, Dita Artsana, confirmed this. However, he has not been able to determine the cause or source of the explosion. PLN will conduct an investigation into this incident.

"The cause is in the investigation process. While waiting for the results of the investigation," said Dita.

Currently, PLN is transferring electricity loads to other networks. So, some of the affected areas can already use electricity again.

"All areas affected have been blackened due to network disruption of 150 kilo volts and are completely normal," said Dita.
