"We managed to secure eight suspects in less than a month," said Sineri. In addition to the suspect, he said, the Manokwari Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team also managed to secure evidence of 13 motorized vehicles. Before being sold, the stolen vehicle was first modified to trick the owner. "The two-wheeled vehicle was stolen from eight cases," he said. The suspect also often uses sharp weapons to threaten the owner of vehicles that cross the highway alone. He explained that the eight suspects were arrested within a period of approximately one month after the police conducted identification. "Eight suspects were arrested within a month," he explained. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Manokwari Police, AKP Irwan Fakaubun, emphasized that the police are committed to eradicating criminal acts of theft with violence that is behind it. "This perpetrator followed the victim first and threatened with a knife. Most of the victims were mothers," he said. The suspect, he said, not only stole motorized vehicles but cellphones and other belongings of motorists. The total number of police reports for the actions taken by the eight suspects was 27 reports. One suspect acted in more than two cases of theft, with different locations. "We continue to develop again, there are suspects that we are still pursuing," said Irwan. Eight suspects who committed the crime of theft accompanied by threats of violence were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) with a sentence of nine years in prison. His team also managed to arrest one suspect of theft with the initials AM. "For theft with weight we impose Article 363 of the Criminal Code," he concluded.
