PP Muhammadiyah: All Parties Respect The Appointment Of Komjen Listyo Sigit As Candidate For Chief Of Police

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Ahmad Syafi'i Maarif, has opened his voice regarding the appointment of the Head of Criminal and Criminal Investigation Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the sole candidate for National Police Chief.

He asked all parties to respect the decision of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) without discrimination. "As the President's choice, we respect. Congratulations to General Listyo Sigit as the sole candidate for National Police Chief," said Syafi'i Maarif in a statement received by the media, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 13.

According to Syafi'i, Listyo Sigit Prabowo has good relations with all circles, without discrimination.

Previously, the Chairperson of the DPR, Puan Maharani, officially received a Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the proposal of a candidate for the National Police Chief who would subsequently conduct a fit and proper test at the Indonesian Parliament.

"Today we have received the Presidential Surpres from the President, in which the President submitted a proposal for the upcoming National Police Chief with a single name, namely Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Si, who is currently the Head of Criminal Investigation of the Police," Puan told reporters at the DPR RI building, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Later, after Komjen Sigit underwent a fit and proper test by Commission III of the DPR, the next stage was ratification at the DPR plenary and continued with the inauguration at the State Palace.
