JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named a number of suspects in connection with the investigation into alleged corruption of performance allowances at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Allegedly they cut off employee rights for their personal interests. "We make sure the suspects are more than one person," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, March 27. KPK said the fraud occurred for up to tens of billions. The money is suspected of entering the suspect's pockets. "The use is suspected to be good for personal needs, each asset purchase, then there is also for operational funds," he stressed. The money is also suspected to fulfill the examination process of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). "But we are still investigating all of this, yes, the information, the facts," said Ali. Although they have not detailed the suspects, Ali said they could be suspected of violating Article 2 and Article 3. Because the fraudulent actions committed by cutting the budget carelessly have harmed the state and enriched themselves.

As previously reported, the KPK searched the office of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday, March 27. It has not been detailed what findings they got from the process. Later, the evidence obtained from the search will be submitted to the public.
