Road Access To Telaga Ngebel Ponorogo Tourism Object Closed Due To Landslides

JAKARTA - Road access to the Telaga Ngebel tourist attraction, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, was completely cut off due to landslides when it rained heavily in the area. Head of the Ponorogo Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Henry Indrawardana, in Ponorogo said access to the Telaga Ngebel tourist attraction was currently temporarily closed until normalization was carried out.

"The road access is indeed not possible to pass because it is covered by landslide material," Henry said, quoting Antara, Sunday, March 26.

The main access to one of the leading tourist attractions is on the Dolopo Madiun route to Ngebel Ponorogo. Land material that landslides closes the road reaches more than one meter thick and lengthens, so the normalization process takes quite a long time.

The same thing happened on the Telaga Ngebel cellingkar road. In addition to being covered by soil material, there was a large rubber tree that fell across the road so that officers had to cut tree trunks before moving heavy equipment to get rid of landslides.

In addition to the two landslide points on the Telaga Ngebel tourist route, landslides also occurred in Pupus Village and Gondowido Village, Ngebel District.

In Pupus Village, landslides threaten one resident's house, while in Gondowido only partially closed the road.

"Indeed, everything was caused by heavy rain, plus unstable soil conditions," he said.

In order to minimize the risk of casualties and property, Henry appealed to the public to increase their vigilance, especially for those who are in areas prone to landslides or under cliffs.

If heavy rains occur, seek refuge in a safer place.

" Vigilance must be increased, areas prone to landslides, and houses that are located too steep, to be vigilant and move briefly during heavy rains and find safe places," he said.
