Polda Metro Calls Possible Changes In Congestion Patterns During Ramadan, 16.00 Starting To Get Crowded

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya predicts that there will be a change in the pattern of congestion in Jakarta during the fasting month or Ramadan. Later, the accumulation of vehicles will occur starting in the afternoon. Currently, the pattern of congestion in Jakarta starts when the office is finished or around 17.00 to evening. “ Usually at 6 pm it is crowded. Maybe later at 4 pm (starting traffic jam), because they are chasing to break their fast at home, ” said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman in his statement, Tuesday, March 21. However, the changing pattern of congestion is said to not last long. Because, in the middle of Ramadan will return to normal. "But at the beginning, the possibility will come back later," he said. Congestion in the morning is also said to be changing. Because, it is influenced by company policies related to working hours. "If in the morning there is a usual resignation of working hours, we will see how the regulations from each agency are," he said. Therefore, Latif said that he had prepared steps to anticipate the congestion. Traffic officers will be on standby at a congestion-prone point. "Yes, we have anticipated it too. We will place personnel at vulnerable points,” said Latif.
