3 Jokowi's Instruction In SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air Tragedy: Victim Search, Insurance, Revealing Causes Of Accidents

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued 3 instructions regarding the downing of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft. Searching for victims and revealing the cause of the accident on the Jakarta-Pontianak route are the priority tasks of the relevant authorities.

This President Jokowi's instruction was conveyed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi. Budi Karya faces Jokowi at around 13.30 WIB, Tuesday, January 12.

"The president conveyed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the victims to have a place with Allah," Minister of Transportation Budi Karya said at a press conference at the main post for the search for Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft at JICT2, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

Jokowi in the meeting ordered the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya, to go directly to the JICT2 post.

"There were 3 instructions that the president gave us, the handling of the disaster must be fast to get a black box as well as the bodies of the victims and the pieces of the plane's body to be immediately removed," said the Minister of Transportation.

Currently the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) black box Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft has been found. The Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) is still in search.

"(Instruction) second, insurance and the rights of the victims must be given to the family in accordance with applicable regulations. Third, the cause of the accident must be found and used as a lesson to improve the performance of national flights, "the Minister continued, mentioning two other Jokowi instructions.

In the same press conference, Kabasarnas Bagus Puruhito said there were 24 body bags related to the crash of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane. One of the pockets contains particles from the plane.

"Likewise the search for CVR. For information, we have just returned from the location. Earlier we brought to JICT there were 24 body bags and one containing particles from the plane, "said Kabasarnas Bagus in a press conference at the JICT2 post, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 12.

Kabasarnas said that the search for victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft was still continuing.

"Of course in the future we will still continue this search for the evacuation of victims, as well as the evacuation of existing materials, which are still in the location," he continued.

Meanwhile, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said the discovery of part of the FDR was reported by the KSAL at around 16:40 WIB, Tuesday, January 12. At 14.00 WIB, according to the TNI Commander, the KSAL reported a fraction of the FDR black box Sriwijaya Air SJ-182.

"16.40 KSAL reports again that FDR has been found and it is also reported that two underwater beacons were found. This means that CVR still needs to be searched without the help of these beacons. However, we believe that all the beacons in the cockpit voice are found in the vicinity with high confidence so the cockpit voice will be found, "said Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto at the main post for the search for Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft at JICT2, Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Priok.

The black box was put into a box filled with brownish water, then taken by Sea Rider by several divers, including Kopaska and Dislambair.
