BMKG Detects 11 Fire Points In East Kalimantan

BALIKPAPAN - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Balikpapan Station detected 11 hotspots in East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim), so all parties were asked to keep each other hot spots from happening again because a number of areas were still potentially hot a few days. "We have informed the relevant hotspots so that further action can be taken," said the Coordinator of Data and Information at Class I Meteorological Station Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Diyan Novrida quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 19. A total of 11 hotspots were monitored throughout Saturday (18/3) from 01.00 to 24.00 WITA, then they were immediately submitted to the relevant agencies, especially the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) both at the East Kalimantan Province and each district level in order to get further treatment. The day before Friday, his party also detected as many as 20 hot spots spread over three districts in East Kalimantan, namely Berau, Kutai Kartanegara, and East Kutai, but the hotspots had been extinguished after handling was carried out by related parties. While the 11 hotspots monitored Saturday were at different coordinate points, although some were still within the same district and sub-district. The 11 hotspots detected Saturday were scattered in three districts, namely in Berau Regency there were 3 points, Kutai Kartanegara Regency 2 points, and East Kutai Regency there were 6 hotspots. The details are hot spots in Berau Regency spread over two sub-districts, namely Sambaliung District there were 1 point and Mount Tabur sub-district detected 2 points. Then 2 hot hot spots observed in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, spread over two sub-districts, namely Loa Janan and Loa Kulu Districts.

Meanwhile, 6 hotspots located in East Kutai Regency, are spread across two sub-districts, namely 3 points in Kaubun District and 3 points in Bengalon District.
