MAJALENGKA - Majalengka Police, West Java, secured as many as 152 students from the Cirebon Regency area, who were suspected of having a brawl. Three of them were caught carrying sharp weapons. "We have secured 152 students from the Cirebon Regency area, they are strongly indicated to be carrying out a brawl or attack," said Majalengka Police Chief AKBP Edwin Affandi in Majalengka, Antara, Sunday, March 19. Edwin said the students were arrested after his party received information from the public regarding a group of students suspected of fighting. With this information, the police immediately dispatched members to secure students to prevent a brawl. The students, continued Edwin, came from the Cirebon Regency area, and were suspected of attacking one of the schools in the area. "The students are gathered in Palasah and Kadipaten sub-districts, so we immediately secured them," he said. The students, said Edwin, were given guidance for a day, and they promised not to do any brawls, even parents were also presented to provide more maximum supervision. "We provide guidance to them and we also present their parents, so that they can be fostered," he said. In addition, his party also secured three students who were caught carrying sharp weapons without rights so that the three were taken to Majalengka Police Headquarters. "The perpetrator who carries a sharp weapon is charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law no. 12 of 1951, with a penalty of 10 years in prison." he said.
