6.5 Kg Of Marijuana Expedition Delivery Mode Fails To Be Smuggled In Bogor

BOGOR - A member of the TNI-Polri thwarted the circulation of six packages of marijuana weighing 6.5 kilograms sent using expedition services in the Cibinong area, Bogor Regency, West Java.

"Starting from the collaboration between Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas, they received information from the public," said Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Iman Imanuddin during the disclosure of a drug case quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 17.

He explained, on Thursday afternoon, Babinsa Kodim 0621/Bogor Regency received information from Firman, the manager of a shop in Central Kelurahan, Cibinong, that there were three suspicious packages sent from the expedition service.

The reason is, Firman has received shipments of similar packages three times at his shop, and the packages are always immediately picked up by online motorcycle taxi drivers.

"Then we carried out an investigation into the suspicious package. It turned out that the contents of the package of marijuana were dry, ready for distribution weighing 3.3 kilograms," said Iman.

Then, said Iman, Babinsa members together with Bhabinkamtimbas traced the existence of package orders with online motorcycle taxi drivers and found two suspects at the place of booking located in Sukahati Village, Cibinong, Bogor.

One suspect with the initials NMB was arrested, but another suspect managed to escape.

Iman revealed that his party carried out development to an expedition service warehouse in Kedunghalang Village, North Bogor District, Bogor City, and found other evidence in the form of three packages of marijuana weighing 3.2 kilograms.

"We will continue to develop this alleged marijuana-type narcotics network. Based on the initial investigation, this comes from North Sumatra to be circulated in Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok City and its surroundings," said Iman.

In addition, Iman admitted that he would give awards to Bhabinkamtibmas who were able to arrest suspected drug dealers.

"I and the Dandim will also give appreciation to our members who work beyond their main task. Hopefully this will be a good motivation for other members," he said.

Meanwhile, Dandim 0621/Bogor Regency, Lt. Col. Kav Gan Rusgandara in the same place stated that the disclosure of drug trafficking starting from public complaints was proof that public trust in TNI-Polri institutions was still high.

"This is a form of synergy at the Bogor Police with Kodim 0621. Then, this is also proof that public trust is still very high, so we can handle it. Not only drugs, but entirely, whether it's a fight, theft, please report it to the scattered Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas," said Gan.
