DKI Prosecutor's Office Closes Restorative Justice Opportunities For Mario Dandy-Shane Lukas

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office stated that there was no longer any opportunity for Mario Dandy Satryo and Shane Lukas to get restorative justice (RJ) as a settlement of the case of persecution against David Ozora. Thus, the public prosecutor will sue with a heavy witness.

"For the suspects Mario Dandy Satriyo and Shane Lukas Rotua Pangodian Lumbantoruan, there is a closed opportunity to be given a termination of prosecution through RJ," said Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, Ade Sofyansyah in his statement, Friday, March 17.

There is no longer any chance for Mario and Shane because their actions in the series of cases of persecution caused David to suffer serious injuries. In fact, until now he is not aware.

Moreover, the criminal threat behind their actions has exceeded the maximum limit in terms of restorative justice.

"So the threat of punishment is more than the maximum limit of RJ," he said.

On the other hand, Ade straightened out the statement by the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) about offering restorative justice.

Actually, the settlement of cases restorative justice will only be offered to AG who is still a minor. This is because his involvement in the case is not directly.

However, if David's camp rejects the peace efforts against AG, then the legal process will continue.

"Providing the opportunity to offer diversion to AG Children who are in conflict with the law solely considering the future of children as regulated in the Child Protection Act," said Ade.
