Police Investigate Flow Of Distribution Of Methamphetamine Carriers Worth Rp900 Million From Makassar To Ambon

AMBON - The police are investigating the distribution of drug trafficking after the arrest of suspect S alias A who brought in methamphetamine worth Rp900 million from Makassar to Ambon recently.

Kapolresta Pulau Ambon dan Pulau-Pulau Lease Kombes Pol Raja Arthur Simamora mengatakan, telah memerintahkan jajaran satuan reserse obat (satresnarkoba) untuk mengeluri pelaku yang diduga terlibat jaringan penye supplier drug asal Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel).

"It must be investigated whether there is a network or the involvement of other individuals, because the arrest of one suspected drug dealer has 305.15 grams of crystal methamphetamine," he said in Ambon, Wednesday, March 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Arthur, suspect S is suspected of being a drug dealer in Tual City, Maluku, who brought in drugs from Makassar, via Pattimura International Airport Ambon on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Airport officials who detected the illegal goods through X-Ray rays then reported it to the Pattimura International Airport Police, so that they arrested the suspect at one of the inns near the airport.

"In-depth investigation of the suspect to reveal his network must be carried out because previously he also brought in 15 grams of crystal methamphetamine from Makassar through Ambon Pattimura International Airport and continued to Tual City," he said.

According to Arthur, suspect S, who was caught while keeping his evidence in this shoe base, has been detained at the State Detention Center and can be charged with violating Article 112 paragraph (2) and Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a threat of 20 years in prison.
