PAPUA - A total of four districts in Papua Islands and Papua Provinces submitted regional government financial reports in 2022 to the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) representing Papua in Jayapura on Wednesday, March 15.
The four districts that submitted financial reports were Yahukimo and Jayawijaya Regencies in the Papua Mountains Province. Then, Biak Numfor Regency and Supiori Regency in Papua Province.
Head of BPK Papua Representative Martuama Saragi said that according to the provisions of Article 17 paragraphs (2) and (3) of Law no. 15 of 2004 concerning Examination of State Financial Management and Responsibility, BPK is obliged to submit reports of the results of the examination to the DPRD and regional heads no later than two months after receiving reports from local governments.
Therefore, it is hoped that the supporting reports on the submitted reports are complete and have met the requirements to submit, namely a statement of responsibility, a budget realization report (LRA), reports of changes in more budget balances (LPSAL), balance sheets, operational reports (LO) cash flow reports, reports of changes in equity, notes on financial reports (CALK) and reports on the results of review of the inspectorate.
The examination of financial reports will soon be carried out by the BPK in order to provide an opinion statement on the level of reasonable information presented in the government's financial statements.
Financial examination aims to provide adequate confidence (resonable assurance) that financial reports have been presented fairly in all material matters and in accordance with accounting principles, Saragi said.
It is said that the opinion that will be given by the BPK on the regional government's financial statements is a professional statement by the examiner regarding the reasonable financial information presented by each LKPD based on the criteria according to government accounting standards, adequate disclosure, compliance with laws and regulations and the effectiveness of the internal control system.
In accordance with Article 10 of Law 15 of 2004, regulating the implementation of inspection duties, examinations can ask for documents, access all data, seal, ask for information from someone and take pictures, record and take samples as examination aids.
"For this reason, BPK hopes that the regent will encourage the ranks below it to support every examination so that it will run well," hoped the Chairman of the Papua BPK Representative Martuama Saragi.
Yahukimo Regent Didimus Yahuli representing the four districts that submitted financial reports admitted that his party would try to provide the necessary reports and data.
"We are trying our best to provide the reports and data needed in the examination," said Yahukimo Regent Didimus Yahuli.
