A fake police gang was arrested by a joint team from the West Jakarta Metro Police and the Kembangan Police after confiscation of a motorbike on Jalan Gang Kubur Joglo, RT 08/03, Joglo Village, Kembangan District, West Jakarta.

From the hands of the perpetrators, KTA fake police and a toy gun belonging to the perpetrators were confiscated. The incident was also caught by CCTV cameras and went viral on social media.

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes M Syahduddi said the perpetrators in carrying out the action were divided into 2 teams. The first team played a role in carrying out COD with the victim and the second team acted as fake police officers by driving a car.

After the victim arrived at the location determined by the first team to carry out cash on delivery (COD), he made a transaction with the victim.

"Then the team acting as the police (fake police) came to the victim and accused the victim of being a collector, after that the victim's cash and ATM were taken by the perpetrator," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes M Syahduddi when confirmed, Tuesday, March 14.

Kombes M Syahduddi explained that 6 of the perpetrators who were arrested, including the initials ZK (play as COD), DA (which taped the victim), DOP (lattice provider), KD (driver), IGD (carrying the victim's motorbike) and MSI (play on the motorbike).

"The six perpetrators were successfully secured in two different locations including Jalan Kali Abang Tengah, Kota Bekasi and Jalan Gang Mosque Poncol, Bogor Regency, West Java," he said.

From the hands of the perpetrators, evidence was confiscated in the form of 5 motorbikes, 2 cellphones, 5 STNKs, 2 revolver-type toy guns, an expenditure notebook, 1 police vest, 2 handcuffs, 2 police authority badges and 9 motorcycle number plates. As a result of their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code.
