11 RTs In Jakarta Submerged By Floods Of Up To 75 Cm This Morning

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that as many as 11 RTs in East Jakarta were flooded up to 75 centimeters or cm as of 09.00 WIB today, Tuesday, March 14.

Floods this morning occurred after moderate to heavy rain in most areas of DKI Jakarta since Monday, March 13 evening. Heavy rain last night also caused an increase in the alert status of the Depok Monitoring Post and Manggarai Water Gate to Alert 3 (Alert).

In addition, 1 road section was inundated, namely on Jalan Mangga Raya, Tugu Utara Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, with water levels reaching 20 centimeters.

"BPBD noted that inundation occurred on 1 road section inundated and 11 RT or 0.036 percent of the 30,470 RT in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Monday, March 14.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," he said.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that light rain will be evenly distributed throughout the DKI Jakarta area in the afternoon and evening today.
