21,400 Road Points In Jakarta Damaged In 3 Months, Most In East Jakarta

Head of DKI Jakarta Highways Agency Hari Nugroho said there were 21,400 road points in Jakarta that were damaged in the last three months, spread across 5 administrative cities in the capital.

"There are about 21,400 damaged points on the highway from December to early March. There are many in East Jakarta," said Hari, Sunday, March 12.

Hari said that some of the damaged road points had been repaired with two methods, namely cold mix and hot mix. Cold mix is a shipment that does not require heating, in contrast to the hot mix that needs it.

"We categorize the condition as moderately severe damage. If it is lightly damaged we use coldmix, if it is damaged we are using hotmix, heavily damaged using hotmix and concrete," said Hari.

Hari admitted that there were still damaged road points that could not be repaired because it was still in the rainy season. On roads that need hotmix asphalting, work is carried out waiting for sunny weather.

"Hopefully in the third week of March, the rainfall has started to improve a little, we will make permanent repairs with hotmixes and concrete," said Hari.

Hari explained the cause of the damaged road in Jakarta. One of them is that many roads have not been completely repaired. When there is a damaged point, the DKI Provincial Government only makes a patch.

"For more than 3 years we have not repaired the road, only patchwork. From that age it is damaged, it is normal to be damaged. Especially because of rainfall. Adding damage. In addition, landslides are excavated," he explained.
