Apparently Jokowi Wants Prabowo To Understand Farmers' Problems Directly On The Field

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo wants Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto to understand the problems faced by farmers in the field.

That was the basis for the President inviting Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to the rice harvest location, which was one of the agenda for President Jokowi's working visit to Kebumen, Central Java, Thursday, March 9.

"The president wants Mr. Prabowo to understand the problems in the field faced by farmers," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media at the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 9.

Apart from having a work agenda in Magelang during the day, Defense Minister Prabowo is expected to understand farmers' problems, moreover, he is also assigned to handle food estates in Central Kalimantan.

In addition, not a few people who are on the outer islands choose the profession of a farmer.

This is because the outer islands are also the defense of the country which is the scope of the main duties of the Ministry of Defence.

In addition to the rice harvest location, President Jokowi also invited Defense Minister Prabowo to the inauguration of the Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation Pond in Kebumen, Central Java.

"For shrimp ponds, the President wants Mr. Prabowo to see opportunities in the outer islands that can be utilized to improve the welfare of the local community," continued Bey.

As for the inauguration of the shrimp aquaculture pond, President Jokowi said the shrimp pond model in Kebumen, Central Java had modern management so that it could serve as an example for implementing fishery product cultivation in other regions.

"This will be an example that can be copied later for other provinces, districts, so that the modern management that we are seeing today can be copied to be applied in other regions," said President Jokowi when inaugurating the Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation Ponds in Kebumen, Central Java.
