900 People Involved In The Process Of Searching For Landslide Victims Of Sumedang

JAKARTA - The search for langsor victims in Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency, West Java (West Java) is still being carried out. On the third day of the search process, Monday, January 11, approximately 900 people were involved.

Head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office (SAR) Deden Ridwansyah, reported by Antara, said that 900 people consisted of various elements.

"If the joint officers are around 900 officers. Hopefully with the joint team, synergy and good cooperation for all victims can be found," said Deden at the landslide location.

According to Deden, the joint officers were needed because the search process was quite difficult because the landslide material was still thick.

Deden ensures that the search process is carried out by implementing safety at work. Because there is still the potential for further landslides at the scene.

"We have assigned 6-10 people as safety officers to monitor the situation of ground movement above," he said.

The SAR team said that up to now, 27 people were still missing and suspected of being buried by landslides. Now police officers are also closely guarding the access road to the settlement where the landslide occurred.
