10 Malaysian Companies Review Investment In IKN Nusantara

JAKARTA - There are 10 large companies from Malaysia that are currently studying to invest in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan, said Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He conveyed this in response to a question by Member of Parliament Tanjong Manis Yusuf Abd Wahab during a hearing at the People's Council building, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Anwar, currently, there are at least nine companies from Peninsular Malaysia and one from Sarawak who is conducting studies investing rather heavily in IKN.

"And President Jokowi (Joko Widodo) has said that Malaysia is more advanced in ASEAN and is active in carrying out this cooperation," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Anwar said that for Malaysia, the synergy with Indonesia would benefit the two countries.

According to him, in recent negotiations with the Government of Indonesia, several other companies were also involved, including Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Telkom Malaysia Berhard (Telekom). At least 10 companies.

However, Anwar said because Sarawak is closer to IKN and is at the forefront, so it will be coordinated with the Government of Sarawak to make it more profitable. That, according to him, has also been conveyed to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

In addition, according to him, the government is at the same time researching the possibility of establishing cooperation involving universities, youth groups, Islamic bodies, state government and non-governmental bodies in the areas involved.
