JAKARTA - A series of accidents occurred on Jalan Lingkar Kudus, Kudus Regency, Central Java, on Sunday involving five vehicles and resulted in six victims being injured.

As for the chronology of the incident, it started when a number of vehicles stopped because of the lights on the Holy Ring Road, to be precise at the intersection of Japanese Village, Mejobo District, lit red from the very front of the truck, then the pickup truck, deer car, motorbike.

Suddenly from the back, the hino truck nopol BA 8252 QU driven by Chamdani, a Kaliwungu resident, Kudus walked, not paying attention to the traffic light that was flashing red. As a result, crashing into a Toyota Avanza car number H 9309 WB and a supra motorbike numbered H 5228 ASG which stopped in succession also crashed into a pickup truck numbered K 1916 ZA and hit an unknown truck in front of him.

"An unknown truck left the scene of the crime," he said.

As a result of this incident, six people were injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. There were three victims who were suspected of having broken their legs and one who had broken their arms or legs.

The injured victims undergo treatment at the Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital. Meanwhile, the passengers in the Avanza car have a toddler in a safe condition.

Until now, the police are still investigating officers to reveal the exact cause of the accident.

"Temporary information, the accident is suspected to be due to the truck's car brakes failing," he said.

The successive accidents had resulted in traffic jams. After the vehicle involved in the accident was successfully evacuated, traffic flow was smooth again.

On social media, footage of monitoring cameras or CCTV (closed circuit television) has also been circulated.

The 30-second recording shows that successive accidents occurred at around 13.00 WIB. A truck loaded with snacks can be seen directly attacking the vehicle in front of it, which is in line waiting for the traffic control light to turn green.

The pickup truck suffered the most damage because the car formed the letter "V", while the rear wheel of the Kijang car was lifted upward when the truck hit the brakes.

Two motorcyclists were seen to have avoided the collision and were positioned just to the left of the truck.
