SEMARANG - Kodam IV/Diponegoro provides clarification regarding the incident of a dispute between an unscrupulous member of the TNI and a car driver that occurred on one of the roads in Semarang City, Central Java. The member's action went viral on social media.

The Head of Information for Kodam IV/Diponegoro Colonel Bambang Hermanto confirmed the incident that occurred on MH Thamrin Street, Semarang City, on Friday, March 3.

In this incident, it was seen that a member of the TNI in service uniform who was a member of the Kodim 0733/Semarang City with the initials ES was involved in a dispute with a car driver.

"The incident was purely a misunderstanding," he said in a broadcast in Semarang, Antara, Sunday, March 5.

According to him, from the results of the clarification by the member of the 0733 Kodim, it is known that the incident started when the two drivers were driving from north to south on Gajah Mada Street.

A Toyota Sienta car with plate number H 1531 HS driven by a man with the initials NH blocked the Honda Freed driven by ES. Feeling that his vehicle was being blocked, ES then reprimanded NH when the two vehicles turned onto MH. Thamrin Street.

Emotional ES had time to take a bayonet which is a completeness of his uniform.

The incident was apparently recorded by the driver of the car behind NH's vehicle and then uploaded to social media.

Bambang said ES had been questioned at his unit and handled it professionally and proportionately. He also appealed to road users to respect and appreciate each other in order to create safety and comfort on the road.

This problem has been resolved amicably. The two disputing parties have been reconciled.
