Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Will Talk About Religious Tolerance At Kyoto University

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will be a keynote speaker and talk about religious tolerance at Kyoto University, which is Japan's second best university. "The “Vice President will speak in one oversight. He is the keynote speaker at Kyoto University. It is the 2nd best university in Japan," said Vice President Masduki Baidlowi spokesman in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, March 5. The Special Staff of the Vice President for Communication and Information explained that on that occasion the Vice President would talk about Indonesia's experience as a plural country that can carry out life in a peaceful manner in a religious context. Masduki revealed that Vice President Ma'ruf will share Indonesia's experience in implementing peaceful religious life, just as Japan has also practiced religious tolerance. “ We know Japan is a country that has also successfully carried out religious life (with) peace and well. And Indonesia also has the same experience, and that's what the Vice President at Kyoto University will convey later,” he said. In addition to being a keynote speaker at Kyoto University, Masduki added, the Vice President will inaugurate a mosque built by the Indonesian people who live in Osaka, namely the Istiqlal Osaka Mosque. “Vice President will inaugurate a mosque in Japan, this is one of the largest mosques in Japan called the Istiqlal Mosque. This is also the pride of citizens in Japan,” explained Masduki. During a working visit to Osaka and Kyoto, the Vice President will also hold bilateral meetings to discuss Indonesia-Japan cooperation, especially in the halal industry sector as well as Islamic economics and finance. "(There will be) bilateral talks between the Vice President as the Government of Indonesia and several elements of government from Japan on this visit, to Osaka and to Kyoto, in those two places,” he explained. Finally, Masduki revealed, the Vice President will also greet the Indonesian people who live in Osaka and Kyoto through dialogue forums. "In addition, of course there are talks with the Indonesian people in Osaka and Kyoto," he explained.
