Electricity Was Still Off Last Night, Residents Around Plumpang Depo Hope For Police Security Patrols

JAKARTA - Security patrols are expected to be present among residents around Plumpang Depo, Koja, North Jakarta.

The effort is expected to exist to anticipate potential thefts that may occur following the fire belonging to Pertamina and impacted the surrounding settlements on Friday, March 3.

Heru Bangun, a resident around the location, admitted that until Saturday, March 4, electricity in some residential areas around Depo Plumpang had not yet recovered.

"Some of the electricity is out, so at night we can't see anyone who comes. So we ask the police and related parties to conduct patrols," he said at the location.

Heru also said that since 12 pm residents took the initiative to conduct an examination of anyone who intends to enter the area to identify local residents or not.

"We also inform you that at 12 pm we will sort out people who are the same people here who are not and later we will coordinate with regional RT," he said, confiscated by Antara.

Heru said that this was done by local residents in anticipation of things that were not desirable, considering that many residents came to the location.

Moreover, he said, since the day of the Pertamina Plumpang Depot fire incident, there was one theft incident that was caught and thwarted by residents. In other locations, it was also reported that residents had lost their cell phones.

Heru added that residents would block two locations of the entrance to residential areas.

This is considering that residents are currently trying to change the units of the vehicle that caught fire at the time of the incident, causing debris from residents' vehicles to also try to be stolen.

"So someone took advantage of the situation. We hope that the police, we told the police earlier and they said there would be patrols," he said.

The Pertamina Plumpang depot, Koja, North Jakarta, experienced a fire on Friday, March 3 at around 20.00 WIB and the fire was extinguished at around 23.00 WIB.

The DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 52 fire engines and around 250 personnel for extinguishing the area.
