SOE Minister Focuses On Handling Plumpang Depot Fire Victims

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir admitted that he continued to monitor the condition of the victims of the Pertamina Plumpang Depot fire, Koja, North Jakarta. Currently, his party is now more focused on dealing with the victims.

"I think for the current context we focus on victims first such as evacuation and treatment," said Erick, as reported by Antara., but most importantly of course how I monitor the condition of the fire victims," he continued.

Erick admitted that he had ordered Pertamina to attend, ensure, provide all support and facilities for victims affected by the fire.

He stated, this is a shared responsibility, especially Pertamina. "If there are fire victims who need more intensive help, RSPP is open and ready to accept it. This is because it is the responsibility of all of us," said Erick.

"The main thing is how we are present to ensure maximum service for the community," he continued.

Previously, Erick Thohir asked Pertamina to act quickly in overcoming the burning of the fuel oil pipeline in Plumpang, North Jakarta. He has called the President Director of Pertamina. Currently, how Pertamina and a number of parties can immediately extinguish the fire and rescue victims and local residents. Erick admitted that he had received reports of casualties in the incident and offered condolences to the families of the victims. He also asked Pertamina to thoroughly investigate the incident and coordinate intensively with the police and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to take emergency response measures around the scene. According to him, swift action is a must in minimizing the impact of the incident, especially for the surrounding community.
