JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil together with Bogor Mayor Bima Arya presented human resources with special skills to overcome the difficulties of productive age workers in Japan.

In a written statement as reported by ANTARA, Bima Arya, who accompanied Ridwan Kamil, met with Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Japan, Friday, March 3, to discuss HR issues currently facing Japan.

"Earlier I was with the Governor of North Sumatra (Ridwan Kamil) and the Sumedang Regent in talks with the Governor of Tokyo. The first was to provide an update on economic growth in West Java and the city of Bogor which is above the national average," said Bima.

Also at the meeting, Bima and Ridwan Kamil opened space for Japan, especially all cities in the Tokyo territory, to be able to take advantage of the human resources that West Java has due to Japan's current shortage of human resources.

Currently, Japan is experiencing a shortage of manpower because many human resources in Sakura Country are getting old and the population level is small.

Japan also accepts foreign human resources called Specified Skilled Workers who are ready to work in 14 industries such as maintenance, food service, construction, and so on.

Bima Arya, who also serves as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI), has established communication with the Governor of Tokyo to open up opportunities for cooperation with 98 cities in Indonesia and cities in Tokyo Province.

"I have also established communication with the Governor to be able to work together with the 60 mayors who are under the authority of the Tokyo Province," said Bima Arya.

Bogor in particular, continued Bima, the city of rain wants to study and work together regarding the holding of the Tokyo Marathon.

"The Tokyo Marathon is known as one of the biggest, most successful marathons in the world which is attended by 40.000 runners from all over the world. Bogor wants to learn that because for Bogor, sport tourism is one of our main focuses. Because this is not just a technical implementation but there is education, coaching readiness, culture and others," he said.
