Sriwijaya Air Ensures Family Assistance For SJ 182 Passengers

JAKARTA - Sriwijaya Air President Director Jefferson Irwin Jauwena said that his party would provide the maximum possible assistance to the family of passengers on the SJ 812 plane which crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

As a measure to fulfill this, Jefferson said that his party had prepared two posts at Supadio Airport Pontianak and at the Sriwijaya Air Office. This post serves passenger families who want to find information.

"We will provide the best possible assistance to the family," said Jefferson in a press conference at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, Banten which was broadcast on KompasTV, Saturday, January 9.

He said Sriwijaya Air would also work harder to search for this aircraft assisted by other parties.

"We will certainly work in close coordination with related parties in the search process for SJ 182," he said.

Jefferson also expressed his concern about the accident experienced by one of his planes.

"We hope that all prayers can help the search process run well and smoothly and we hope that everything will be in good condition," he said.

Previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route reportedly lost contact at around 14:44 WIB.

Furthermore, this plane is confirmed to crash around Lancang Island and Laki Island, Thousand Islands. In this flight, SJ 182 carried 52 passengers and 6 crew.

Regarding this aircraft, based on data from flightradar24, the Sriwijaya Air plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten at 14.36 WIB and the estimated arrival was scheduled at 15.15 WIB.
