Eva-Deddy Champion In Bandar Lampung Regional Head Election Suddenly Disqualified Because TSM, Legal Team Brought To MA

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Eva Dwiana-Deddy Amarullah's Attorney Team, Juendi Leksa Utama, said they would prepare a legal action to the Supreme Court (MA) after the KPU disqualified candidate pair number 03 as participants in the 2020 regional elections. Eva-Deddy won the most votes in the Pilkada of Lampung Airport .

"We will study the KPU's official decision about the contents of the decision. We have prepared material for legal action to the Supreme Court to cancel the decision to cancel candidate pair 03 namely Eva Dwiana-Deddy Amarullah," Juendi said in Bandar Lampung as quoted by Antara, Friday, January 8.

Juendi said in the KPU decision, his party still gave three days to take legal action to the Supreme Court to overturn the election organizer's decision.

"Of course we will fight and will use the existing legal channels to achieve legal certainty for our clients," he said.

He also asked all residents of Bandarlampung City to remain calm until there is legal certainty by waiting for a decision from the Supreme Court.

"Currently we are still fighting, so Bandarlampung must be conducive and maintain unity and integrity. We will fight for the people's voice," he said.

Previously, the Bandar Lampung KPU decided to carry out the decision of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) which recommended to disqualify candidate pairs (Paslon) serial number 03 Eva Dwiana-Deddy Amarullah because of structured, systematic and massive violations (TSM).

In the 9 December 2020 Pilkada, the results of the recapitulation of votes for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandarlampung conducted by the Bandarlampung KPU determined the candidate pair number 03 Eva Dwiana-Deddy Amarullah who was supported by PDIP, NasDem and Gerindra, winning with 249,241 votes.

Then, candidate pair number 02 M Yusuf Kohar-Tulus Purnomo who was supported by the Democratic, PAN, PKB, Perindo and PPP parties won 93,280 votes.

Candidate pair number 01 Rycko Menoza-Johan Sulaiman supported by the Golkar Party and PKS received 92,428 votes.
