Passengers Joking About Bombing In Suitcase, Wings Air From Semarang-Ketapang Is 47 Minutes Late

Wings Air flight from Semarang, Central Java to Ketapang, West Kalimantan, was delayed by about 47 minutes, following the behavior of one of the passengers who joked about the on-plane bomb. Corporate Communications Strategic of Wings Air Danang Mandala Prihantoro said the safety procedures for passengers with the initials UD (45) had been carried out by Wings Air security officers and airports. According to him, Wings Air security officers have re-confirmed and followed up on a joint re-examination with local aviation authorities. "UD was not included in the flight," he said in a press release in Semarang, Antara, Tuesday, February 28. He explained that the incident began when one of the passengers said there was a bomb in one of the suitcases located in the rear trunk compartment. This was followed up by a thorough inspection of passenger luggage. "The results did not find any bombs or other items that endangered the flight," he said. According to him, it will take about 37 minutes to re-examination of passenger belongings and cargo in the trunk. As a result, he said again, the flight, which was supposed to depart at 07.00 WIB, was only flown at 07.37 WIB. "The plane arrived at Rahadi Oesman Airport safely at 09.09 WIB," he also said. He emphasized that joking about bombs or acts of underestimating flights could be criminally threatened with Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation.
