H-4 WSBK At The Mandalika Circuit, BMKG Predicts Rain To Fall During The Race

LOMBOK - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported the potential for high heavy rain when the World Superbike (WSBK) event was held at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"There is still a chance of rain [during the WBSK] on March 3-5 in Mandalika," said BMKG forecaster Zaenudin Abdul Majid, Lombok, Nur Siti Zulaicha, in a written statement, Tuesday, February 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

The BMKG also appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in parts of Mataram, West Lombok, Central Lombok, West Sumbawa, and Sumbawa in the afternoon until the afternoon.

"Be aware of the increase in wind speeds that can cause fallen trees," he said.

Previously, the BMKG stated that rain was still likely to occur in the next ten days from the end of February to early March in the NTB region.

"In the rainy season period that is still ongoing in NTB, the public is expected to continue to be aware of the potential for hydrometeorological disasters," said BMKG forecaster for Nusa Tenggara Climatology Station, Cakra Mahasurya.

The BMKG stated that the potential for hydrometeorological disasters could occur suddenly and be local in nature such as heavy rains, strong winds, landslides and floods.

"The public is also advised to be aware of the potential for extreme weather that can disrupt daily activities," he said.

BMKG also stated that the air mass flow, especially the NTB region, is still dominated by westerly winds. The gusts of westerly winds are predicted to last until March 2023 in line with the active Asian Monsun which dominates Indonesia.
