Russian Foreigner Arrested At Ngurah Rai Airport Allegedly Related To Theft

BADUNG - A Russian foreigner with the initials SMA (29) was arrested by Ngurah Rai Immigration officers, Bali. It is suspected that this foreigner is related to a robbery whose information has gone viral on social media.

"A prospective passenger on the Emirates flight EK 369 for Denpasar-Dubai was detained by TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration officers, due to a temporary suspicion of committing a crime in the North Kuta area," said the Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, Monday, 27 February.

This Russian foreigner was handed over to the North Kuta Police after being secured by immigration officers.

Satake said that mediation had been carried out between Russian foreigners and the victim. But there is no agreement.

"Finally by the North Kuta Police, the mediation was stopped, the mediation continued on Monday at the North Kuta Police Office," he said.

Meanwhile, North Kuta Police Chief Commissioner I Made Pramasetia admitted that his party had just received a report. The identity of the victim is not yet known.

"We have just received a report, there are people who feel they have been robbed or that there was theft but violence was committed against them. However, we are still in the process of receiving the report, because we asked the victim what the modus operandi was, and how it was done and we are still examining the victim," he said.
