JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has implemented a system of recording measurement data and balancing toddlers in Posyandu to prevent stunting, through the Whatsapp Chatbot (WA) application.

"Posyandu cadres can identify which children have the potential to stunt with the WA Chatbot. We want that if there are children with the potential for stunting, they will immediately be given intervention in the form of animal protein foods every day," said Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin, quoted by ANTARA, Monday 27 February.

Minister of Health Budi said that measurements of weight and height must be carried out based on the name and address of the child to make it easier for posyandu cadres to identify potential stunting.

WhatsApp (WA) chatbots are used by Posyandu cadres to facilitate the filling of children's health data. Through the WA Chatbot, posyandu cadres can enter data on children ranging from names, weight, and height, the Minister of Health added.

Data on the health of children included in the WA Chatbot, continued the Minister of Health, can be monitored directly by the governor up to the head of the puskesmas.

After recording via the WA Chatbot is complete, a growing and development graph will automatically appear along with the nutritional status of toddlers and recommendations for follow-up efforts that can be submitted by posyandu cadres to the parents of toddlers.

The data will be directly connected and stored on the dashboard of the Sehat Indonesiaku (ASIK) application at the puskesmas which is integrated with the OneSehat platform which can be accessed by parents via cellphone.

DKI Jakarta is a province that has implemented a WA Chatbot recording system for stunting interventions.

The WA chatbot began to be introduced and applied for the first time in DKI Jakarta through the implementation of training of trainers for puskesmas personnel at the DKI Jakarta Health Office on Monday, February 20, 2023.

There are more than 100 participants who participated in this training who were representatives of puskesmas personnel from 44 sub-districts in DKI Jakarta. The WA chatbot began to be used by posyandu cadres on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

After DKI Jakarta, the recording of data on the growth and development of toddlers through the WA Chatbot will be expanded to posyandu in 50 other districts/cities which will gradually begin in March 2023.
