Jakarta Flood Update: Rendam 104 RT Up To 1.8 Meter, 245 Residents Extinction

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded an increase in the number of flood points in Jakarta as of 13.00 WIB. Previously at 11.00 WIB, floods spread across 84 RT. Now, the flood has inundated 104 RTs with water levels up to 1.8 meters. In addition, the flood also inundated 5 roads, namely Pelita Street, Lubang Buaya Village, East Jakarta; Cakung Cilincing Highway, West Cakung, North Jakarta; Jalan Sungai Begog, East Semper, North Jakarta; Jalan Sakti VII, Petukangan Selatan, South Jakarta; and Jalan Perumahan Green Garden RW 04, Kelurahan Kedoya Utara, West Jakarta. "BPBD recorded that the inundation previously occurred on 2 roads and 84 RTs, currently there are 5 roads inundated and 104 RTs or 0.341 percent of the 30,470 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Monday, February 27. In addition, 245 residents of Kedaung Kaliangke and North Kedoya sub-districts took refuge in 3 locations, namely 93 people at the Jami Al Fudhola Mosque, 80 people in Musala At Taubah, and 72 people at the Al Hidayah Mosque. Isnawa explained that the flood occurred after moderate to heavy rains that hit most of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings last night until this morning. According to BMKG information, the average rainfall in Jakarta is 50-100 millimeters per day. Extreme rain or rain with very heavy intensity occurred around the Sunter Hulu region (rainfall of 105 millimeters per day), Climatology Station Banten (105 millimeters), and Arcade Pump (100 millimeters). "As a result, there has been an increase in the status of Manggarai Water Gate, Fish Market Water Gate, and Karet Water Gate to Alert 3 (Alert), Angke Hulu Post, and Sunter Hulu Post to Alert 2 (Alert) and inundation in the DKI Jakarta area," said Isnawa. Isnawa said that his party deployed 267 personnel from the DKI BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) to suction inundation and ensure that the water lines were functioning properly. "The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," said Isnawa.
